McAllen Announces Expansion of Cargo and Commercial Inspection Facilities at Anzalduas International Bridge

To increase foreign trade between Mexico and the United States , the expansion of cargo and commercial inspection facilities at the Anzalduas International Bridge was confirmed .
Juan Olaguibel, superintendent of the Anzaldúas and Hidalgo International Bridge , commented that this project will have a total investment of 81 million dollars and involves part of a donation to the United States government, in order to build the necessary infrastructure to handle commercial cargo ( full cargo ) through this international crossing on both sides: north-south and south-north.
“The project consists of having everything necessary to be able to handle full cargo from Mexico to the US and from the US to Mexico,” Olaguibel mentioned.
For his part, Javier Villalobos, mayor of McAllen, Texas, commented that '" international trade from Mexico to the United States is of vital importance to the state of Texas and no one understands it better than the Rio Grande Valley legislative delegation ", highlighted Javier Villalobos, mayor of McAllen, Texas.
In addition, he thanked the efforts of the delegations involved in this project, especially that of Senator Juan "Chuy" Hinojosa and Terry Canales, Texas State Representative for District 40, for their support in obtaining 21 million in state funds.
Thanks to the great work of the Mcallen City team, they also received a $63 million loan from the North American Development Bank .
